Dr Yu is a Consultant in Chinese Medicine and Consultant Physician of integrated Chinese medicine & Western medicine. He has been considered one of the top Chinese medicine doctors in the UK.
Dr Yu has been practicing Traditional Chinese Medicine alongside Western Medicine for more than 25 years. He heads the practice team of Doctors and specialists at Chinese Medical Centre of London.
He completed his medical training integrated with Traditional Chinese Medicine in China. In 1993 he received his degree of Master of Medical Science at University of Newcastle. In 2002 he went to Hammersmith Hospital, London for one year further training in Internal Medicine. In 2004 he obtained his postgraduate Diploma in Internal Medicine at Imperial College London. He also completed his degree of Doctor of Medicine at Imperial College London in 2008. In 2022 he passed the MRCP (Part 1) (Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the UK). His rich knowledge and clinical experiences in both Western medicine and Chinese medicine have earned him great reputation in successfully treating a wide range of disorders. His current areas of research interest are Vitiligo, Men's and Women's infertility.
He has written a number of articles about Chinese medicine in local newspapers and published several research papers in Western medicine at professional journals. He also lectures at Guangzhou Medical University and Guangdong Pharmaceutical University in China. His visitors include former President and High commissioners of Kingdom of Swaziland, other foreign Ambassador and diplomatic officers.
On 17 May 1997, BBC One o’clock News team interviewed Dr. Yu at his clinic, topics including Development of Chinese Medicine in the UK and successful cases he has treated. On 15 July 2008, Dr. Yu was invited to BBC London studio and gave a live talk about Current Traditional Chinese medicine therapy on obesity.
