  • New patients: A consultation must be made with the Chinese Medicine doctor before the treatment can be taken.

  • Subsequent visits
    It is advised that repeat prescribed herbs should be purchased after seeing the doctor again since the doctor may not only alter your herbal prescription but also monitor your progress. After consultation please follow the Instructions on how to prepare your herbal tea. Once any herbs have been sold they cannot be returned for health and safety reasons.

  • Courses of treatment
    The total number of treatments required varies, depending on the nature and severity of the problem. Your practitioner will discuss this with you.

METHODS OF DECOCTING CHINESE HERBS

Each pack of herbs is for one day and should be used twice.

DAY ONE: (Start either in the morning or evening):

First Decoction: (1) Put one pack of herbs into a pot, boiling it with 3 mugs of cold water, then keep simmering for 30 minutes (approximately one mug left).
(2) Drain the herbal-tea and drink the tea when warm, still keep the herbs.
Second Decoction (in the evening or next morning):
Put 2 mugs of cold water in the same herbs, boiling and simmering again for 20 minutes (one-mug left). Drink the tea as before, then throw away the herbs.

DAY TWO:

 Use a new pack of herbs and repeat the above process. When you finish the herbs prescribed by our doctor, please be sure to come back, the doctor needs to monitor your progress.

Note(1):

  1. Patients taking the herbal treatment for Vitiligo are warmed that some herbs might have adverse effects on liver in rare conditions. It is advised that liver function test should be done regularly.
  2. Please contact our practitioner or your doctor if you have any queries or unusual reactions.

 

NOTE(2):  Utensil for decocting Chinese Herbs: Ceramic clay pot, enamel pot or glass      pot (avoid metal pots, e.g. stainless steel pot).

    1. The herbal-tea may taste bitter, you should try to get used to it. If you cannot stand it, add some honey in it.
    2. Patients apt to vomit after taking herbal-tea should take some ginger juice or take the herbal-tea in small doses at short intervals.
    3. When taking Chinese herbs, please avoid drinking alcohol, eating spicy food.
